The Hearing Health Foundation stresses the need for newborn hearing screenings and early intervention in this program. 3 out of every 1,000 children in the U.S. are born with hearing loss. Fortunately, early intervention allows children with hearing loss to receive help during their first two years of life, a critical time for language development.
